NLP was born in the early 70’s, the branchild of John Grinder and Richard Bandler. They studied some of the leading therapists of the time but instead of accepting the standard theoretical underpinnings of the various approaches, they sought to develop a model of the behaviors which lead to therapeutic success. Pati McDermott has been a practitioner of this approach for about 15 years. You can find out more about both NLP and her work by visiting her website at www.nlppati.com. In the course of our interview, Pati recommended the book NLP: The New Technology of Achievement by Andreas and Faulkner. Shrink Rap Radio gets some positive feedback from the podcasters at Didgeplanet and Podchick. Finally, we close with an appropriate piece of podsafe music, “You Gotta Believe” by Natalie Brown.
