Hey Dr. Dave,
I have commented on several other shows before but so far this is my favorite. I study and teach several martial arts (kali, mande muda harimau silat, jun fan gung fu, thai boxing, jiu jitsu, judo and other arts that jeet kune do as taught by Guro Dan Inosanto includes)
anyway I felt I really could relate to many parts of this show and glad to know you are a martial arts enthusiast. since you enjoy martial arts and you seem to enjoy healing arts, I wanted to direct your attention to a fascinating art called Kali. in brief, Kali includes aspects of weaponry, hand to hand combat skills, but also covers healing arts . it’s about 3 am as I am writing this but I hope you get a chance to research it a little.
your loyal Listener
I felt so immersed in the healing and martial arts disciplines that Randy Clere described with such depth, wisdom and experience, that my consumption of seaweed salad, seaweed soup, bean sprouts, and kimchi skyrocketed!
Randy’s way of talking about the unfurling tea leaves while he generously shares tea with his patients was particularly delightful. He subtly and skillfully conveys empathy and makes use of hypnosis, but in addition, the word “unfurl” might also encourage the patient to release not only tension and physical discomfort, but to “unfurl” the energy knots of emotional negativity as well.
A really outstanding interview, Dr. Dave, and I am so happy to learn that Jo is enjoying transcribing this material as much as I am!
Sayonara for now,
Susan
I’m interested in knowing more about how Randy combines acupuncture with hypnosis and neurolinguistic programming. This was a great interview … as long as it was the first of many. I can think of so many things I’d like to ask Randy. What an interesting fellow. Does he actually use acupuncture needles when he’s doing hypnotherapy? Does it work? What sorts of challenges has he faced? Are there issues that respond more to this combination of modalities than one or the other alone? Are there times when these are contra-indicated? I would like to hear more from Randy. I’m also interested in how his martial arts and meditation practices have colored his use of neurolinguistic programming. More, please! Thanks for this interview. Oh – BBQ sure sounds good!
