Dr. Dave… This interview podcast was amazing!!! I am an MFT Intern working in your very own Sonoma County and focusing on somatic psychology. It can be very hard to get really good info on somatic techniques for treating clients and its frequently shrouded in some sort of ‘vaguery’… if that’s a word! I found Maggie to be clear, concise, educated and inspiring. I too have been intrigued by Peter Levine’s work and long to take his SE training… but short of doing that, Maggie was a phenomenal spokes woman and I learned a lot just listening to her. In my field I also have a few hypnotherapy and EMDR friends and I was glad to hear Maggie express her belief in these techniques without missing a beat; she did not sound skeptical, she didn’t have the need to over-explain, she just appeared to truly believe her techniques worked. That in itself was so refreshing. That gave me a lot of hope and renewed my belief that I’m on the right track. I myself am taught about moving, shaking and breathing through the body… right here at the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic in Santa Rosa!! I just can’t get enough, however, and this podcast was like getting a great training. By the way, I did listen to George Lough’s interview and I was just as mesmerized. I think when I get licensed I may investigate doing an SE training. I never fail to tell all my friends about Shrink Rap and Wise Counsel. Thanks so much for your hard work,
Sincerely,
Tamara
