Jane Hart is a biology major, author, public speaker and mental health activist. She is working toward her PhD in molecular biology and will one day work in the research field. She hopes to bring about social change by speaking out about tough topics, and enlightening others about the realities of mental illness. While shedding light on her own personal experience, she also fights to get scientific facts readily available to the public and to the loved ones of those suffering from mental illness. I’ve enjoyed learning about DID over the years. In my neck of the woods it is essentially a taboo diagnosis. I’ve had patient’s with versions of it… but there are no services that accept the diagnosis where I live so I’ve essentially had to help them without naming it in this particular way. I have found the basic principles of DID and its treatment helpful in understanding the complexities of the human mind and it’s ability to adapt to developmental trauma. Again, a brilliant show!
