Beth Hossfeld, M.S., LMFT, is Co-founder and Consultant at One Circle Foundation, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Mill Valley, CA since 1987. Her career emphasis has been promoting healthy relationships for children, adolescents and families. She served as clinical director for a community based organization providing school-based mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment programs for K -12th graders.
Kelli Finley, M.S., is the Development Director of One Circle Foundation where she supports the expanding reach of Girls Circle, The Council for Boys and Young Men, and Women’s Circle in the Bay Area and across the country. Prior to her work at One Circle, Kelli developed and ran a first-of-its-kind therapeutic program within the San Francisco County jails for children who have a parent that is incarcerated. Kelli holds a Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.
Since 1997, Girls Circle has become a leading gender-responsive model for girls. In 2008, Beth and her colleagues developed The Council for Boys and Young Men, in collaboration with a diverse group of experienced leaders in youth programming. These approaches equip youth to deconstruct limiting and harmful stereotypes about gender and promote safe and healthy connections. In 2012, Beth and her colleagues established One Circle Foundation, the nonprofit that provides facilitator trainings, curricula, and consultation nationwide and in Canada on these research-based circle models.

It’s always great to see such passion! Listening to such interviews always feels great, as one can sense the flow of passion and motivation coming through…
Besides that, these “Gender-Responsive Circles for Teens” could set examples for many other societies with same needs.
And like always, many thanks to Dr. Dave for providing such inspiring experiences!!!
Thank you, Mahyar! Aren’t we all so fortunate for Dr. Dave’s work and Shrink Rap where we can stay informed? I learn more when I’m able to connect more genuinely with thinkers/scholars/innovators/and others in our field. As far as gender responsive circles, we have seen these circles applied in many countries successfully. In time we hope that more youth can have these opportunities. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your comment, Mahyar! It was truly a pleasure to speak with Dr. Dave and its an honor to do the work of One Circle Foundation everyday. Thanks again!
