Sarah Zeldman along with her husband Dr. Allan Zeldman are today’s guests. The Zeldman’s are Shrink Rap Radio listeners who I’ve asked to step through the looking glass, transitioning from listeners to interviewees. Sarah Zeldman is a Life & Home Business Coach and the creator of SolutionsForBusyMoms.com. She has an A.A.S. in Sign Language Interpreting, a B.A. from the University of Rochester and is a Coach U graduate. She been a professional Coach for eight years. Allan Zeldman attended the University of Rochester, where he obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and specialized in addictions, human motivation, health psychology, and the psychology of religion. The focus of his doctoral dissertation was healthy and unhealthy motivations for religious behavior and their impacts on physical, emotional and psychological well-being. He has published in numerous professional journals and books such as The Journal of Health Psychology, as well as The British Journal of Addictions, and The Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology. Much of his writing has focused on Self-Determination Theory, and in his research and clinical work he has interests in motivation as it applies to chronic illness, addictions, diabetes, weight loss, and religious behavior.

I still carry around my Intrinsic Motivation and Self-Determination in Human Behavior even though i didn’t pursue an academic life – it’s a classic!
btw, this book was a MUST read in the Harackiewicz lab (Rewarding Pinball Wizardry, JPSP, 1984) at the University of Wisconsin back in the early 90s.
