Dr. Caldwell teaches for graduate programs at California State University Northridge and the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. His research has been published in the Journal of Marriage and Family Therapy, American Journal of Family Therapy, and the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage, among others. The fourth edition of Basics is scheduled for release in early 2017.

In this role, he was instrumental in the development and language of California’s first-in-the nation ban on reparative therapy for minors.
