How does one cope with the stress of random danger, of car bombs going off daily? I interview Mohammed, a 32 year-old Iraqi living in Baghdad who shares a secret he dare not spread widely there– he likes Americans. Mohammed describes the perils of daily life in Baghdad, his coping mechanisms, and his hopes for the future. Because it would be risky for him to share his photo with us, he provides the image on the right, which is the holy shrine in Najaf. The show closes with a fitting piece of podsafe music, “Sunshine With The Shade.” by The Reverse Engineers, which includes the lines “Another long night ’til the sunrise… Could use some sunshine in the morning…”
